Osteoporosis, or Brittle Bone Disease, affects 1 in 2 women and 1 in 5 men aged over 50.
We aim to raise funds to support local research associated with the disease and to support the hospital based diagnostic and treatment services.
Our main sources of income is through generous benefactors and high quality, entertaining events.
OSPREY is a local charity, registered with the Charity Commission No 1013289 which funds research into osteoporosis or brittle bone disease in Hull and East Yorkshire. Through fundraising events and donations from benefactors, more than £1.5 million has been raised since the charity was founded in 1992.
OSPREY has equipped the Centre for Metabolic Bone Disease at Hull Royal Infirmary with the most up-to-date bone densitometers used for diagnosing and monitoring osteoporosis. OSPREY is also funding several research scholarships at the University of Hull.
