David Haire MBE

David has spent his 50 year career working in the local NHS. His management experience covers both operational and service management, having worked in all of the area’s hospitals.

He also worked at health authority level undertaking a range of service and strategic planning roles. Prior to his retirement he was Director of Operations and Deputy Chief Executive working at the Hull Royal Infirmary. During his health service management career he managed numerous development schemes including being the director responsible for the creation of the Queen’s Cancer Centre (£74m) and Cardiac Centre (£42m) at Castle Hill Hospital. David is currently overseeing a Daisy Charity sponsored development (£8.5m) to provide a molecular Imaging Research Centre on the Castle Hill Hospital site. In his current role as Project Director Fundraising he has secured over £10m of donations for health care from local benefactors and created the WISHH Charity an independent charity raising funds to enhance services provided by the local hospitals.

David was awarded an MBE in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours List and received a Long Service award from the NHS for a Lifetime of Dedication to the Trust.

David has 3 sons and has grandchildren.
